The Occupy Movement: Sparking conversation on rising inequality

Since mid-September the Occupy movement has grown substantially around the world from a group of people in New York to a global force in over 900 cities worldwide. It is a collection of varying slogans and perspectives that has garnered media attention on one of the most important problems in our midst – inequality.

As 2011 enters its last quarter, the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance is undergoing its pre-budget consultation process for the 2012 federal budget.
